Cort Ruddy

Cort joined Red Horse Strategies in the spring of 2010 to lead the Upstate office and to expand the firm’s communications team. He brings to Red Horse an ability to write in a clear and concise way about complex policy matters. A graduate of Syracuse University, Cort began his career covering politics as deputy managing editor for National Journal’s Hotline in Washington. He made the jump into politics to become the speechwriter for U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Upon returning to Central New York, Cort spent five years as the chief of staff and top advisor to State Senator David J. Valesky. In that time, he also served as executive director of the Senate Democratic Upstate Caucus, and as the communications director and campaign manager for the successful election and re-election of Darrel Aubertine.
